#ICareAfrica - They Need Our Help Now!

Dear ChickAdvisor Community,

Like all of you, Alex and I have been watching the Ebola crisis unfolding in horror.  Over 14,000 victims, over 5,000 deaths and the thousands upon thousands of newly orphaned children.  They are the poorest of the poor and mostly left to fend for themselves because no one wants to touch them.

We are reaching out to you today, our ChickAdvisor community and friends to do something to help.

Here's the thing about Ebola: It does not discriminate - it's for everyone! It doesn't care how old you are, how dirty or clean, how wealthy or poor, or that you are a 7 year old raising your younger siblings because your parents are already dead.

According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC) the Ebola outbreak of 2014 is the largest in history.  The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared this a global health emergency.

Thousands of children in West Africa have been made orphans by this deadly disease, ostracized by their communities and left to take care of themselves.  UNICEF estimates that 8.5 million children are at risk.

There are some wonderful organizations doing all they can to help treat, contain and prevent the spread of Ebola.  But there are not enough funds, not enough hands and there is not enough time.

We need to chip in now.  Today.  The ChickAdvisor community is over 56,000 women strong.  If we each pitched in even a minimum donation of $50 think of how far that would go!  We could literally raise hundreds of thousands if not millions of dollars in a very short time that would make a world of difference for Ebola workers, victims and their families.

My $5,000 Pledge and Challenge to You
Alex and I have already donated but we want to do more and I want us as a ChickAdvisor Community to do this together.  Make a donation to any of the charities below (or your Ebola fighting charity of choice), take a screengrab showing the amount and use the hashtag #ICareAfrica.  Share it on Twitter or Instagram.  We will track it and match your donation, with up to $5,000 of our own funds until Friday December 12th

This is not a contest, there is no prize.  This is something small we can do for God and humanity.  I will update you the week of December 15th to share how much we donated together.

Here are just 4 of the well-known charities on the front lines of Ebola you can trust with your donation:

The Red Cross
Doctors Without Borders/MSF
Save the Children
UNICEF

Please help.  Please donate.  Please share.   #ICareAfrica

Note: We are not affiliated with any of these charities, nor is this a sponsored post.

Update: See how much we raised together!
